Hey everyone,

It’s been a while since we’ve done one of these. Welcome back to the 9th annual* Link-O-Rama!

*not actually annual

In this series, I share my favorite reads from around the web. These articles will be perfect for fellow millennials seeking financial freedom. Most will revolve around investing, saving money, and early retirement, but like always, I reserve the right to occasionally throw in a completely random but entertaining read.

Annual Wisdom from Mr. Warren Buffett Himself

Every year, the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Report includes one of the most anticipated shows in investing – Warren Buffett’s annual letter to shareholders. It’s like a big, 16 page blog post straight from the investing genius himself.

This year’s letter didn’t disappoint, and it includes everything from an update on his investments to commentary on his legendary bet against active hedge fund managers.

Want to be a 401(k) millionaire?

Sam over at Financial Samurai ran the numbers to find out how long it will take you to have a million bucks in your 401(k). Depending on your expectations, the results are either surprising or ho-hum.

(As somebody who wants to retire with around a million in less than 10 years, I found it motivating to save even more.)

Earn 40% by converting your garage into an AirBnb?

Nelson, one of my favorite bloggers north of the border, looked into whether he should convert his garage into an Airbnb. For the record, I’m leaning yes, since he could earn 40% (!!!) doing so.

Rental housing – the best returning investment in the world?

Yeah, that sounds like a pretty click baity title, but it’s actually shockingly accurate.

As I’ve started trying to edu-ma-cate myself on real estate, one of my favorite new blogs has been SparkRental.com. They just reported on a fascinating new study showing that rental properties were the highest performing investment class in the past 145 years. Pretty interesting stuff!

What’s it REALLY like to retire early?

Early retirees tend to paint early retirement as all rosy,  all the time. I really appreciated Mr. Tako’s honest take on his first two years of early retirement.

You’re probably forgetting about a frugal way to travel…

Flights too expensive? YoungFIREKnight recently reminded us that the bus is a seriously underrated travel option.

25 easy ideas to pack for lunch

Lord knows I need this list. As somebody who all too frequently mails in the lunch planning duties, Mrs. Montana Money Adventure’s list of cheap, easy lunch ideas just might be my resource for the next month.

Monetize your life, and get paid to live

One of my good blogging buddies, The Financial Panther, has made over $30,000 from random side hustles in the last two years. In this post, he shares his awesome strategy you can use to finally find the time for that side hustle.
